Exploring is a co-ed program run by the Boy Scouts of America that is designed to help students in grades 9-12 explore their career interests. Through the program, you will have an opportunity to meet, talk, and work with physical therapists, athletic trainers, orthopedic surgeons, physician assistants, and research staff in a medical environment.
If you have already pre-registered, attend the mandatory “First Nighter” meeting on Thursday, September 14th at 6:30pm. The meeting will last approximately one hour and a parent/guardian MUST attend to complete the required paperwork.
If you decide to join the OrthoCarolina/OC Exploring post,we will collect $32, which is the annual enrollment fee for Exploring. This must be paid by check or cash (checks should be made payable to “Boy Scouts of America” or “BSA”).
If you bring cash, please try to bring exact change. The closest ATM is next door at Novant Health- Charlotte Orthopedic Hospital. We do not have an ATM in the OrthoCarolina building.
OrthoCarolina/OCRI staff volunteer their time and expertise to host this Exploring Post each month. If you have general questions about Exploring or are interested in learning about other posts in the area, please contact Brian Sweeney, Exploring Executive for the Mecklenburg County Council, BSA at 980-333-1511.

There are many ways to give, and no gift is too small. One in four people are affected with musculoskeletal conditions.
Your contribution allows us to continue to improve orthopedic treatments and put those we love back in motion. Every gift matters!
