Physician Researchers working through OCRI have the ability to blend academic research into their daily patient practice. Clinical concerns and questions witnessed during patient visits or surgery become controlled research studies that can make an immediate impact in improving patient care. Research results are then shared through the teaching of Atrium Physician Residents and OrthoCarolina Physician Fellows, presentations at large orthopedic medical meetings, and through peer-reviewed educational journals.
Orthopedic research matters because it makes everyday life more livable. When you restore movement, you restore life. Through OrthoCarolina Research Institute’s work, you make it possible to explore ideas that make restoring movement better than before.
At no other time in human history
has there been the ability to do so
much good for people suffering
from limited mobility.Christi Cadd – OCRI Executive Director
