Submitting Research Abstracts for Presentation at BReCON 2026

You are invited to submit abstracts for consideration for BReCON 2026. Attendees who have basic science or clinical research projects involving surgical techniques, complications, outcomes, and/or management related to caring for upper limb amputees are encouraged to submit abstracts for presentation at this great event. The presenter must be involved in the project and must be available to present their research on the day of the symposium.
POLICIES GOVERNING ACCEPTED APPLICATIONS
- Applications must be submitted by March 1, 10:00pm Eastern Central Time to research@orthocarolina.com to be eligible for review by the committee.
- An abstract is not eligible for consideration if it has been published prior to submission February 15, 2026.
- The abstract must include four parts:
- Introduction should clearly state the problem and the purpose of the study
- Methods should provide a description of what was actually done
- Results should contain the findings of the study
- Discussion and Conclusion should be based upon the findings and relate to the stated purpose of the study and existing knowledge. Provide specific details about your research/study.
ABSTRACT GRADING PROCESS
- Submitted abstracts will be reviewed in a “blind” fashion.
- Graders are orthopedic professionals practicing in the specific area and are members of the Program Committee. Each abstract is reviewed and graded by a minimum of three graders and the final grade is then averaged.
- Grade is influenced by: significance of the study, content and clarity, specific number of cases or specimen studies, clinical or research data to support its conclusions and new or modified techniques as they relate to diagnosis, surgery, complications or other phases of research as it relates to the program content.
- Confirmation of acceptance will be sent to the author mid March 2026.
POSTER FORMAT
If accepted, Poster presentations will be showcased during all meeting breaks for the entirety of the two-day conference.
You will be required to produce a 45-inch by 45-inch poster to place on the provided tackboard.
