Moises Castellon was missing 5 ribs and 3 of his ribs were fused together when they embarked on a journey with the OrthoCarolina Research Institute (OCRI). Through OCRI, Mr. Michael Wattenbarger was able to apply for a humanitarian device exemption to treat Moises’ condition with a titanium rib implant. It is a procedure that greatly benefited Moises’ quality of life.
You’ll thank us when you stick around for the entire 1:49 of this video to hear Moises thank his doctors and the OCRI team saying, “thank you for saving my life.” This is just one example of a family benefiting from the groundbreaking medical research being done at OCRI.
