OCRI Research Scientist, Bryce Van Doren, was awarded the 2015-2016 Student Research Award by the Health Services Research PhD Program at the University of North Carolina Charlotte. There were six Health Services Research PHD students that were considered for the award. Student applications were reviewed and voted on by the Health Services Research faculty.

Bryce completed his undergraduate degree in Philosophy at the University of Toledo in 2009. Following that, he completed a Master of Arts (Bioethics) program and a Master of Public Health (Healthcare Policy & Administration) program at Case Western Reserve University in 2011. In 2013, he obtained a Master of Public Administration. Bryce began his PhD in Health Services Research in 2013 and expects to complete the program in May 2018.

Bryce joined OCRI in 2014 as a Graduate Assistant and was hired as a Research Scientist the following year.
